Depending on how you use the App, we may collect:

Location Information
ThereYouAre uses location services to:
- Navigate drivers to pickup and drop-off locations.
- Show estimated arrival times.
- Allow authorized users to monitor rides in real time.
- Improve routing and transportation efficiency.
Location data may be collected while the app is in use and, where permitted, in the background to support active trips.
Information Sharing
We do not sell your personal information.
Information may be shared only with:
- Transportation providers
- Healthcare providers (when authorized)
- Emergency contacts selected by the user
- Service providers who help operate the App
- Law enforcement when required by law
Data Security
We use commercially reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, or misuse.
Data Retention
We retain information only as long as necessary to provide our services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When you delete your account (see Your Rights), your PII is permanently removed and any records we are legally required to keep are de-identified — every reference to your original account ID is replaced with an internal anonymous ID (anon_<hash>) that cannot be traced back to you.
Permanently removed on deletion:
- Name, email, phone number, date of birth, home address
- Emergency contacts, medical notes, insurance IDs (Medicaid/Medicare)
- Profile photo, driver license number, vehicle plate
- Login credentials and password reset codes
- Notifications and SMS message history
Retained in de-identified form:
- Ride and trip records — required by HIPAA for 6 years for treatment/audit
- Billing and payment records — required for tax and accounting law
- Security audit-trail entries — required by HIPAA § 164.312(b) for fraud prevention
Retained records use only the anonymous internal ID and cannot identify you.
Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to:
- Access your personal information
- Correct inaccurate information
- Delete your account
- Request a copy of your information
- Withdraw certain permissions
How account deletion works
When you delete your account we take the following actions immediately:
- All personally identifiable information (PII) listed under Data Retention is permanently removed.
- All active login sessions and authentication tokens are revoked — you are signed out everywhere.
- Your original account identifier is destroyed and replaced with a permanent anonymous internal ID (
anon_<hash>). This ID cannot be used to identify you. - Only records required for accounting, billing, fraud prevention, legal compliance, and audit purposes are retained, and they carry only the anonymous ID.
To start a deletion, visit the Delete My Account page or sign in and use Settings > Delete My Account.
Children's Privacy
ThereYouAre is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Third-Party Services
The App may use third-party services including mapping, payment processing, analytics, notifications, and cloud storage. These providers maintain their own privacy policies.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. Changes become effective when posted on this page.
